Babywearing with Shadrach's Collection Ring Sling

I have been wearing my baby since she was one month old.  It's been wonderful, I only wish I did it sooner.  My mom always said I was "lampa" so I was hesitant to try a carrier before, fearing I might accidentally harm my child.  I know a few moms (and non-moms too) who have the same thoughts- that carriers are too intimidating to use. One time, when I was waiting for my firstborn to finish her trial class, I heard yayas talking about me, or the carrier rather.  Their actual conversation was in Tagalog. Yaya 1: The baby seems to be enjoying it.  She looks cozy in her carrier. Yaya 2: Yes, but isn't it difficult to use that? It seems intricate. I wanted to answer but the third yaya said, "No, it just looks hard to onlookers.  But it is actually quite easy.  My old boss made me use a carrier before."  I did not catch the rest of their conversation as I had to go back to the classroom.  I was glad that Yaya No. 3 was familiar with babywea...

Mom Find: Portable UV Sterilizer

My firstborn loves to kiss and touch her baby sister, even if I have told her a thousand times not to do so, No one can stop her- she adores her sister so much!  I have observed that baby Jill gets rashes after Ate Arya makes “gigil” moves on her.  I guess her skin is a bit sensitive.  And she is more high-maintenance compared to her Ate.  That is why I need to be more pro-active and to shield her from dirt, germs, and the likes. They say moms are more relaxed in their parenting style when it comes to the second baby and the succeeding children.   I say it depends.  There are aspects now wherein I am more chill compared back when I was a new mom.  On the other hand, with baby Jill, there are things which I think I am more OA about, like bacteria, viruses, etc.  Perhaps because I think Metro Manila is becoming dirtier and more polluted every single day! Sometimes, my husband thinks I am "exag".  Like for instance, I accidentally dropped ba...

The Parenting Emporium

At The Momma Club's website, there is an article I wrote on what to prepare and pack inside a momma's hospital bag.  Some moms have been asking the exact brands that I use for baby Jill so I decided to make a separate blog post for it. And also, it would be good to document these things for future reference. Yes, forward-thinking about baby number 3 already. Haha! Most of my mommy and baby essentials were bought from The Parenting Emporium (TPE).  Did you know that when you buy from TPE, you get to give back to the community? Because TPE is a social enterprise, every purchase helps their advocacies and beneficiaries.  Founders Beng Feliciano and  Maricel Cua a re very generous to those who seek assistance.  Their doors are open to parents who have sick children, mommies who need breastmilk. They always support a good cause.   TPE believes that parenthood is best shared.  Their workshops are very helpful to first time and clueless par...

Shakey's Junior Pizza Master

Yesterday, Arya attended the Grand Junior Pizza Master event of Shakey's.  It happened in most of the branches nationwide.  I asked Arya if she wanted to learn how to make a pizza, and she said yes.  It was raining hard but it did not dampen the little girl's enthusiasm to go out. She happily waited for the workshop to start. The fee includes this chef hat which she willingly donned. The ingredients are ready, and so is Arya! She's listening intently and following instructions. Arya's pizza.  Thanks to her Daddy for helping her. Of course, it would not be complete without a mascot. Arya with her certificate.  She is tired already. If you are interested in attending a Pizza Master event, just inquire with your nearest Shakey's branch.  It's really fun!  The P499 fee includes the chef's hat, apron, pizza making kit, a glass of iced tea, and a certificate.
